About Bloomin Wedding Invitations: MDC Designs is proud to be an affiliate of Bloomin and to carry the Bloomin Wedding Invitation Line. These earth friendly invitations are made in a solar powered facility using the most earth friendly methods.
What kind of paper is included in the Bloomin suites? Bloomin plantable invitations are handcrafted from 100% recycled, post-consumer paper and embedded with wildflower seeds. Each sheet is crafted one at a time and slight variations in texture, color or printing is not uncommon. These subtle variations are the mark of a truly unique product. No two invitations are exactly alike and you should expect the following:
• Slight variation in paper color and thickness between pieces of seed paper
• Variation in the same ink color printed on seed paper compared to cardstock
• Random distribution of seeds that may potentially intersect text or design
Bloomin will not accept returns for any reasons that relate to the unique variations of our handmade paper.
Reply cards can be made from either smooth 100% recycled cardstock, which is available in 2 colours or seed paper. Accessories (save-the-dates, thank you cards, menus, programs etc) are available in a combination of seed paper and 100% recycled cardstock.
What kind of seeds are in the paper? Each Wildflower Seed Paper item includes a diverse mix of annual and perennial wildflower seeds. These seeds have been carefully blended to ensure they will thrive in all growing regions.

How will my guests know to plant the invitations? Planting instructions are included for all seed paper options. Due to the wide variation of planting locations, water, sun, and loving care each will receive, germination time and success rates will vary. If you do not want planting instructions printed on your item, a separate 2"x3.5" flat card with stock printing is available for $1.00 each. A card with your choice of font, color and planting instructions is available for $1.50 each.
What is the minimum order? The minimum order is 50 of any item.
How are the invitations printed? Bloomin offers two types of eco-friendly printing for your invitations: water-based inkjet printing and vegetable-based letterpress printing. These are natural biodegradable inks that will not compromise the seed’s ability to grow. You should expect a slight variation when the same ink color is printed on seed paper compared to cardstock. Letterpress printing is not available for all products and photographic reproduction is not available for this printing style.
Can I get a custom ink colour? If you are looking for colors outside the wedding palette, a specific ink colour can be printed at an extra charge per color. Please contact us for more information.
Will I get a proof with my order? Your wedding is important to us, and we want you to know what to expect when submitting and approving your order. A proof will be sent to your email address within 4 business days from receipt of your order. Two rounds of proofing, resulting in three proofs, are included with your order to ensure all your needs are met. A $25 charge per proof will apply after the third proof, for each item in your order. If you would like to see additional fonts, colors, or wording options, a $30 per proof charge applies. Once you approve each item, your order goes into production and changes are no longer accepted. For convenience and fast turnaround times, we only accept approval by e-mail. Your order will print exactly as your proof shows.
How long will it take to get my invitations? Orders generally take about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks. There are 3 stages to your order: proofs, production and shipping from our partner company. Then, the invites are ready to be picked up or shipped to you. The delivery date cannot be determined until receipt of your proof approval.
Do you do rush orders? Rush production is available for an extra fee. Production timeframes start from date of proof approval and are generally 5 - 8 days. This time does not include the proofing time or shipping time. See question above.

Can I get extras after my order? Several extra invitations are included with each order, to account for any nuances in the seeded paper. There is a 25-piece minimum required for any reorders. Due to the natural variation in our seed paper and printers, we can’t guarantee an exact match for ink or paper color as your first order. We always recommend ordering extras!
Can I get samples? Invitation samples of are available for $6 each. These non-personalised samples, come with an ink colour chart to help you choose your invitations.
